Aspettando “Ritratto di ballerina” …

Finalmente è in stampa ! Sarà disponibile per il prossimo autunno 2009.

Si tratta di un concept album ed è definibile, in poche parole senza svelare anticipatamente troppi segreti, come un lavoro introspettivo.

Mentre “Lavori in corso” è stata un’ode al progressive, una esaltazione, una serena celebrazione del genere tanto amato, “Ritratto di ballerina” è invece uno strumento per esprimere una sensazione profonda che domina i giorni in cui questo progetto viene concepito.

Questo sentimento bolle nel sangue dell’autore e scaturisce manifestando un’atmosfera di tensione e di cupezza, di rabbia repressa che alla fine sfocia con un tocco di folle ironia.

Un album da ascoltare d’un fiato per cogliere in pieno l’intenzione … Considerando però che alla fine c’è una sorta di spiegazione dell’autore che non lascia la questione irrisolta.

Waiting for “Ritratto di ballerina” …

At last it's in printing ! It will be available on next autumn 2009.

It is a concept album and is definable, in few words without revealing in advance too many secrets, as an introspective work.

While “Lavori in corso” has been an ode to progressive rock, an exaltation, a quiet celebration of that beloved genre, “Ritratto di ballerina” instead is an istrument to express a deep sensation that permeates the days in which this project has been conceived.

This feeling boils in the blood of the author and springs up by showing an atmosphere of tension and dimness, of repressed rage that flows at the end into a touch of mad irony.

An album to be listened in one breath to appreciate the intention … Upon considering however that at the end there’s a sort of explanation of the author which doesn’t leave unsolved the issue.

Perché Gan Eden – il Giardino delle Delizie

Questo nome, medesima espressione nelle lingue ebraica e italiana, nasce dal bisogno di dare una definizione o raffigurazione di ciò che Angelo vuole rappresentare con la sua musica.

In cuor suo Angelo contempla il progressive (varietà del rock nata in Inghilterra nei primi anni 70) come l’espressione più elevata della musica moderna, la “delizia” espressa dall’uomo durante il suo percorso nella storia di questi anni moderni.

Non si vuole osare il confronto con l’epoca cosiddetta “classica” che sicuramente ha toccato vette più alte e che, guarda caso, ha fortemente influenzato e ispirato proprio il rock progressivo; tuttavia, considerando il XX secolo, non è certo una tesi sconsiderata!

Angelo vuole solo esaltare con sincerità ed onestà quella forma di arte che lo fulminò quando era ancora adolescente e che lui stesso ha potuto sviluppare dentro ed esprimere, componendo musica non appena ha avuto una tastiera tra le mani.

Gan Eden è dunque il paradiso, il luogo eccelso tra tutti, la perfezione assoluta.

Ad esso è paragonato il progressive.

Ed al prog Angelo vuole contribuire posando la sua impronta.

E quale personaggio migliore di un “angelo” si adatta a rappresentare il guardiano dell’Eden?

Ecco allora l’Angelo Santo (è proprio il suo nome di nascita!) che compare sulla copertina come baluardo del suo contenuto e di ciò a cui vuole fare parte questo album d’ esordio.

Ecco il paladino del giardino immacolato e perfetto delle delizie.

Ecco il guerriero pronto a difendere la pace e la gloria di quell’oasi d’arte circondata dal deserto di musica “consumistica”, usa e getta, che domina e regna sul mercato discografico mondiale.

Why Gan Eden - il Giardino delle Delizie

This name, same meaning in Hebrew and Italian languages, was born from the need of giving a definition or a depiction of what Angelo wants to represent with his music.

Deep in his heart Angelo contemplates the progressive (kind of rock born in England in the early seventies) as the highest expression of modern music, the "delight" expressed by the man along his way in the history of these modern years.

There is no will to dare the comparison with the so-called "classic" period that surely touched higher tops and that, as if by coincidence, has strongly influenced and inspired just the progressive rock; yet, considering the twentieth century, it's not certainly a thoughtless thesis!

Angelo just wants to exalt with sincerity and honesty that kind of art which impressed him when he was still an adolescent and that he could develop inside himself and express, composing music as soon as he had in hand a keyboard.

So Gan Eden is the paradise, the Most High place, the absolute perfection. To that the progressive is compared. And to the prog Angelo wants to contribute laying down his foot-print.

And what character better than an "angel" to represent the Eden guardian?

So here it is Angelo Santo (it's just his birth name!) who appears on the cover as a bulwark of its contents and of what this debut album wants to make part to.

Here is the paladin of the immaculate and perfect garden of delights.

Here is the warrior ready to defend the peace and the glory of that oasis of art surrounded by the desert of the consumer society music, of disposable kind, that rules and reigns over the world wide record market.
